Undergraduate school and major/minor: University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Anticipated graduation date: May 2023
Three things you have with you at all times: Water, my watch, and lip balm

What are your hobbies or activities when you aren’t studying or working?
Knitting, biking, and rewatching The OC or Mad Men. I used to play piano, and I’m hoping to have more time to dedicate to that again some day.

What would people be surprised to know about you?
I actually love the desert! I’m always quick to tell people how much terrible Las Vegas is and how much I disliked growing up there, which is and always will be true. However, the desert is a magical place, and I’d be remiss to not acknowledge its wondrous beauty.

What is a cause your passionate about?
Equity in aging! As a capitalist society, we are hyperfocused on the working-age population or creating opportunities to ensure younger populations’ success once they enter the workforce. However, the population leaving the workforce needs, at the very least, just as much support until we can change the trajectory of American health care. Elderly populations are plagued with health complications, and until we move away from a treatment-based, reactionary system to a preventative healthcare model, we are leaving one of the most vulnerable populations as an afterthought.

Where do you see yourself after graduation? What is your dream job?
Hopefully, I’ll get accepted to a doctoral program one day. Since coming to the Brown School, I’ve realized how much I want to spend my life as a researcher. I’ve never found a job I liked more than learning. But who knows, maybe I’ll just end up with a simple, undemanding job and a big house so I can just rescue rabbits.
