Evidence-based Public Health: A Course in Chronic Disease Prevention in is made possible through a cooperative agreement with the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD).

In-Person Training

The EBPH course is typically held over 3 1/2 days once each year at Washington University in St. Louis, MO in the spring. State Chronic Disease Directors are invited to identify teams of chronic disease prevention/ health promotion practitioners to attend. The sample enrollment form (link) provides more detail. Online via Zoom

Beginning in 2021, the course is also offered in a 10-week online format (link) with 2-hour sessions held once per week. This option is typically offered in the fall. State-based Training

State-based EBPH courses are held once per year in selected states. These are train-the-trainer courses intended to both train chronic disease prevention/ health promotion practitioners and help states build the infrastructure for ongoing training of their workforce. Following the training, states are expected to replicate the course in their state within a year. The sample application form provides additional detail.
