Research Project Coordinator

Áine O’Connor, MPH, is the Research Project Coordinator for the PRC’s People, Health, and Place Unit, which conducts and supports research and capacity-building projects examining the roles of space, place, and environment on health, health disparities, and wellbeing. She additionally oversees coordination of the PARCS project, a mixed-methods study of the characteristics and use of large metropolitan parks (specifically, Forest Park in St. Louis).  Áine obtained a Master of Public Health at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, and has a variety of experiences working in community and stakeholder engagement, place-based research and study design, and the implementation and evaluation of projects and programs related to population wellbeing and equitable community development. Her professional interests center on the relationship between health and the built and natural environments; health equity; climate and environmental justice; and community-led and -informed research practices. In her free time she enjoys hiking, cooking, and good stories in any medium.
