Dixie Duncan
Research Coordinator
Dixie Duncan is the Local Community Health Research Coordinator for the Heartland Movies project which aims to increase physical activity among rural communities in Southeast Missouri in order to decrease the burden of cancer and other chronic related diseases. Dixie received her BA at Southeast Missouri State University with a concentration in anthropology and nutrition. She is currently earning her Master of Arts in Public Administration. Prior to working with the Prevention Research Center, Dixie worked with a nonprofit hunger-relief organization that serviced a 16 county region in Southeast Missouri. Dixie is a native of rural Southeast Missouri and has first-hand experience working with local agencies and residents with a goal to increase healthy behaviors.
