
Maura Kepper

Dr. Kepper conducts research to reduce the burden of chronic diseases by translating and sustaining evidence-based interventions into clinical and community practice. Her research combines expertise in behavioral medicine, informatics, and implementation science to design, disseminate, and sustain interventions to improve the quality of care, promote healthy behaviors, and overcome community-level barriers to health. Dr. Kepper engages communities in design using multiple methods (e.g., human centered design), with specific expertise in the design and implementation of digital health tools. Her work is situated in a social ecological lens focused on considering the social, economic, and environmental conditions that can negatively impact access to care, health behaviors, quality of life, and long-term health outcomes.
Dr. Kepper is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis and a member of the Prevention Research Center. Prior to joining Washington University, she completed postdoctoral training at Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She received her doctorate degree in Public Health from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Kepper is a member the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society.
